Graduation is next month and you're having a party! Big or small, Sugar Pine can customize the graduates cake to feature their special interests (Juliana was a french student, hence the "good luck" in french ) Simple or grand, we can bake a cake that's fun and delicious. We can even add a fun picture of the grad. Order now to ensure that we can accomodate you!

Cupcakes are always a favorite! Cupcakes are $27 a dozen and the small cake to accompany the cupcakes is $35

Having a party with another family? We can customize the cake to reflect both graduates.

What do Mom's want for Mother's Day? Well, being a pet and bakery mom, I know I am always looking for more sleep but I couldn't speak to my friends with children so I took an informal poll and this is what I found: Mom's want to sleep in and have their own little treat so we are going to help you accomplish that this year. Below we have a recipe for a make ahead french toast that can be easily (and quietly)baked in the morning and we are going to feature all kinds of little treats at the Bakery so busy dads can fulfill Mom's wish without stressing out! (and at the Last Minute - no judgement - look when this newsletter is going out.)

Mother's Day Treats !

Sugar Pine Bake Shop is featuring a few treats sure to make Moms smile! We're taking orders in advance, of course but we know the last minute nature of things we will also stock the case and be able to pull together a lovely gift at the last minute. We'll even throw in a cute little card - blank so you can write your own Mom's day sentiments.

Apple Streusel Pie -Mom's are as American as, well, Apple Pie :)
Crisp Granny Smith Apples with a yummy streusel topping and a little gingery zing
$15/ 9" pie (serves 8) - Can be gift wrapped

Cupcakes - A white or pink box filled with either 2, 4 or 6 cupcakes. We'll be featuring Vanilla and Chocolate of course, and Pink Champagne and Red Velvet as well as some special surprises so come by and pick yours out. We even have a cute little box for just one - and we're happy to make any box into a gift with a satin ribbon and complimentary card. Cost is $5 (2 cupcakes), $10 (4 cupcakes) or $15 (6 cupcakes) A dozen is discounted to $27 and can also be presented in a box with ribbon!

Cookies - Our cookies are $7.00 a dozen ($3.50 for 6) and can be prettily boxed just for Mom to put next to her lawn chair and snack on all day long as her wonderful family waits on her. Are we making this easy or what? Add a flower shaped sugar cookie on top for just $1

We'll also have the usual treats: Peanut Butter Stuffed Brownies, Chocolate Dipped Macaroons, Cheesecake & Lemon Bars and more!

Make Ahead French Toast

Ingredients:

1 loaf bread, cut

diagonally in 1 inch slices
(Our brioche or raisin walnut would be delicious. If you want to make it healthy, think of using our whole wheat whole grain bread or even for a Mediterranean twist,our semolina bread)

8 eggs

2 cups milk

1 1/2 cups half-and-half cream

2 teaspoons vanilla extract

1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon

3/4 cup butter

1 1/3 cups brown sugar

3 tablespoons light corn syrup

Directions:

Butter a 9x13 inch baking dish. Arrange the slices of bread in the bottom. In a large bowl, beat together eggs, milk, cream, vanilla and cinnamon. Pour over bread slices, cover, and refrigerate overnight.

The next morning, preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). In a small saucepan, combine butter, brown sugar and corn syrup; heat until bubbling. Pour over bread and egg mixture.

Bake in preheated oven, uncovered, for 40 minutes.
 
Garnish with Fresh Berries and Crisp Bacon if desired.
